Eid al-Fitr: Ododo Calls for Sacrifice, National Cohesion
Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has urged Nigerians to uphold the virtues of love, sacrifice, and unity as Muslims across the country mark Eid al-Fitr.
The Governor made the call shortly after observing the two-rakat Eid prayer alongside a large congregation of Muslim faithful at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Center. The prayer session witnessed the presence of top government officials, community leaders, and residents who gathered to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking with journalists, Governor Ododo described Eid-el-Fitr as a significant spiritual milestone that provides an opportunity for reflection on the lessons of the fasting period. He emphasized that the festival embodies the values of love, sacrifice, obedience to the will of Allah, as well as compassion, discipline, and generosity.
He expressed gratitude to God for the successful completion of Ramadan and called on citizens to sustain its teachings in their daily lives for the collective good of society.
The Governor also reaffirmed his administration’s support for the policies and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the initiatives are beginning to yield positive outcomes and require the continued cooperation of Nigerians.
On security, Governor Ododo assured residents of ongoing improvements, attributing progress to the strengthened collaboration between the state government and security agencies.
Addressing political stakeholders, he advised aspirants seeking elective offices to engage meaningfully with the grassroots and earn the trust of the people, stressing that leadership must be people-driven.
Governor Ododo expressed optimism that the people of Kogi State will continue to make informed choices that will sustain good governance and drive development across the state.
