Entire Kogi State deserves infrastructural upgrade – Gov Bello says

Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has said all parts of the state deserved infrastructural upgrade which he is ready to provide.

He gave the assurance on Sunday in Ogugu, Olamaboro Local Government Area during the flag off and groundbreaking ceremony of Adumu Gully Erosion Control in the area.

The Governor said he was particular about the area because it had suffered neglect and underdevelopment for many years despite being home to several influential members of the public including his deputy, Hon Edward Onoja.

Governor Bello noted that his commitment to the emancipation of the people of the state through improved social amenities was something he took seriously, adding that his second tenure would herald a more aggressive commitment to further ensuring structural upgrade of Kogi state.

He said the Erosion Control Project in Ogugu was something very dear to his administration, and that other parts of the state requiring the same attention would get it to ensure he takes Kogi to the next level.

The Governor said his deputy, Hon Edward Onoja has been very generous to the entire state and deserved the best in his community just like as all the citizens of Kogi State, and promised to ensure they got it.

He said the project which is attracting support from the World Bank, came on board after the state government had identified it as a priority need for its communities, stressing that his administration had committed huge resources in ensuring its execution.

Speaking, the deputy governor, Hon Edward Onoja thanked the governor for his show of love to the Igala people and his passion for the development of the state, assuring him that the people see it and were ready to back his second term bid.

Hon Onoja had conducted the Governor round the site where the road project in Ogugu had reached and explain to him where it was supposed to get to, to which Governor Bello expressed satisfaction.
