Kogi Governor appoints new Ohinoyi, Maigari, depose 3 others
….appoints 21 Local government caretaker chairpersons
….trims down cabinet, dissolves Board, Agencies and parastatals
Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello on Monday announced Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Anaje, formerly the Ohi of Okenwe, as the new Ohinoyi of Ebira land. The governor also announced Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir as the Maigari of Lokoja and Alhaji Dauda Isah as the Maiyaki of Kupa.
The governor during the executive council meeting also announced the removal and deposition accordingly of Alhaji Abdulrazaq Isah Koto, the Ohimege-igu, Koton-karfe and the chairman, Lokoja/Kogi local government traditional council; HRH Sam Bola OJOA, the Olu Magongo of magongo; and HRH. Samuel Adayi Onimisi, the Obobanyi of Emani who were deposed respectively to Rijau Local Government, Salka, Magama Local government and Doko, Lavun Local Government area in Niger state. HRH. Boniface Musa, the Onu-Ife in Omala Local Government was suspended indefinitely.
Governor Bello similarly revealed that the title ‘’Obobanyi of Ihima’’ which reads on the promotion letter, upgrading the stool to first class status, was done without cognisance to the fact that the title ; Obobanyi of Ihima’’ is a subject of litigation and the court of law is yet to arrive at the possible final decision.
He hinted that the government had however received numerous petitions on the matter, calling attention to the need to revert and maintain status quo, until the court of law decides, hence, the stool is reverted to ‘’Obobanyi of Emani’’ as the present occupant remained deposed.
The governor similarly announced the appointment of the 21- Local Government caretaker chairpersons, stating that premised on the completion of tenure of executive chairmen of the 21- LGA, vacuum has since been created, hence there was the urgent need to put individuals in place so as to keep up on the security architecture of the state.
Those appointed included, Rasheed Bashiru Okatengwu (Adavi), Haruna Aliyu Ogido (Ajaokuta), Adamu Yahaya Mohammed (Ankpa),Theophilus Adama (Bassa), John Urah (Dekina), Emmanuel Uge (Ibaji), Amade Egwuda Ochuenu (Idah), Cosmas Attabor Ilemona (Igalamela-Odolu), Ibrahim Haruna (Ijumu), Barr. Zaccaeus Dare Michael (Kabba-Bunu), Musa Abdulmalik (kogi).
Others are Abdullahi Adamu (Lokoja), Ademola Bello (Mopa-Muro), Hassan Atawodi (Ofu), Rosemary Ohiezu (Ogori-Magongo), Monday Amoke Odu (Okehi), Enesi Ahmed Nuhu (Okene), Ameh Williams O (Olamaboro), Edibo Ameh Mark (Omala), Dare Joshua Venza (Yagba West) and Tosin Olokun (Yagba EAST).
