Gov. Bello charges youths on political participation, religious tolerance
The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has made a call for more youth participation in politics, while they also ensured religious tolerance amongst themselves.
The governor made this call on Friday at the 3rd Oladele John Nihi symposium where he was represented by his Chief of Staff, Pharm. Abdulkareem Moh’d Jamiu Asuku.
The symposium is an annually held event where contemporary issues are discussed.
Governor Bello called on the youths, whom he referred to as “partners in progress” to tolerate each other and eschew all acts of religious and political violence as that would only serve to push the country and society backwards.
The governor recognizing the place of religion in nation building, charged religious leaders to preach messages that would promote unity, peace and love for one another as a people.
He similarly urged all present to create platforms and avenues where knowledge could be impacted, so as to bring up more politically conscious and religious tolerant youths who would turn the tide of our country into becoming a more cohesive nation.
