Gov. Bello swears in SSG, COS, DCOS, 17 Commisioners, make 6 additional appointments
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has sworn in the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Folashade Arike Ayoade, Chief of Staff pharm Jamiu Asuku and Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Sunday Faleke
Oath of offices were also administered to 17 commissioners earlier confirmed by the State House of Assembly on Tuesday.
The event took place at the Glass House of the State Government in Lokoja and was graced by families, friends and well wishers of the new appointees.
Governor Bello in his address appreciated God almighty for the beginning of the second term of his administration noting that the newly sworn in commissioners would form the nucleus of the government.
He noted that those coming in newly have proven themselves worthy in learning and character and the ones retained were found worthy of a second chance.
He charged them to be humble as they were only selected few from the many qualified persons.
The Governor warned them against sectionalism, tribilism, nepotism, which he pointed out that his government had fought to conquest in its first term.
He also advised them to familiarize themselves with the New Direction Blueprint noting that the former five thematic points would be expanded into Human capital development, Cooperation and integration (EBIGO Agenda), Security and Agriculture.
He asked them to remain accessible, run a transparent government, ensure fiscal responsibility and facilitate funding to run government in their respective ministries.
The commissioners and the ministry allocated includes ; Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning Idris Ashiru Asiwaju, State Artoney General and Commisioner for Justice, Mohammed Sanni (SAN), Local Government Administration and Chieftaincy Affairs Abdulsalami Ozigi, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Isah idachaba, Education science and technology Honourable Wemi Jones.
Others were Women Affairs and Social Development, Fatimah Buba, Rural development , Daniel Oniel Ejigbo, Works and Housing Honorable Abubakar Ohere, Youths and Sports, Idris Musa, Ministry of Agriculture, David Apeh, Solid Minerals and Natural Resources Bashir muhammed, Environment, Adewale Victor omofaiye, Transport, Joseph Baron Okwoli, Health, Hon. Saka Haruna, Information and communication Hon. kingsley Fanwo, Commerce and Industry Hon. Gabriel Olofu.
Governor Bello also annouced 6 additional appointments which comprised of 5 special Advisers, and one Director General.
The New appointees included Hon Haruna Musa Idoko Special Adviser on legislative matters, Barr. Femi Adegboyega, Special Adviser on legal Matters, Hon. Nasiru ohiani Special Adviser on Sustainable Development Goals.
Also were Dr. Gabriel Otta Special Adviser Education, Science and technology, Commander Jerry Omodara Special Adviser security and Barrister Mosses Okeize Director General research and planning.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Chief of Staff to the State Governor Pharm Jamiu Asuku thanked God almighty for the successful inauguration noting that Governor Bello was the first in history to announce his cabinet members on the day of his inauguration.
