— as Forum presents birthday gift to Governor

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has expressed gratitude to the state forum of Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) for their commitment to the objectives of his government and unalloyed support for the popular push for his presidency.

He made the assertion on Sunday in Lokoja when the state forum of SSAs presented a birthday gift to him at the State Presidential Lodge.

The Governor who said he was not unaware of what the forum has been doing and their tireless sacrifices for his government, said he was lucky to have their type in his cabinet, and called on other appointees to emulate the forum to make the efforts of his administration easy.

Earlier while receiving members of the forum, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pharm Abdulkarim Muhammad Jamiu Asuku had enjoined members to continue with their push as he was sure there would be only GYB standing as Nigeria’s President in 2023.

According to the Chief of Staff, while those in charge of the presidential push are people of no mean political ability and administrative sagacity, the Governor and his government are not resting on their oars as demonstrated in the many legacy projects being executed in the state despite many challenges.

He admitted that there were lapses noticed in the first tenure which the government is correcting, leading to the plaudits being received in this second tenure with many outstanding projects.

He noted that the administration is no longer distracted by any naysayers despite the baseless noise being made, stressing that the posture has brought such noise to nullity in decibel, adding that the government is focused on making necessary sacrifices for the good of the state.

In his earlier address, the Chairman of the forum of SSAs, Hon Ismail Umar had intimated the Governor of why they decided to present the gifts, saying they were in tandem with the person of Governor Bello as the father of new Kogi State and the next generation leader in the country.

He restated the commitment of the forum to ensuring they completed their nationwide advocacy with the next phase, and solicited for support from government to ensure a hitch free exercise.
