Gov. Bello urges aides to be committed, serve as checks
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State in a courtesy visit paid to him by the nine Federal constituencies Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) reiterated his administration’s commitment to championing the cause of women and youth in the state.
Gov. Yahaya Bello who was ably represented by his Chief of Staff, Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku Mohammad Jamiu made this known while receiving the Senior Special Assistants, in Government House on Tuesday.
Pharm. Asuku while addressing the SSAs said the primary responsibility of the group is to mobilize women and youth, collaborate with the government officials especially now that new local government chairmen and their women vice have been sworn in urging them to cooperate and collaborate with them.
The Chief of Staff also pointed out to the group that they serve as checks and balances to those in government as independent observers. Also, he said he will be meeting with the group once a month to review the observations of elected officials which he said should be reported directly to him.
Pharm. Asuku while commending Governor Yahaya Bello’s commitment to women and youth inclusion in politics, saying he is more than capable to do great things beyond 2023.
“His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello has proven himself to be a champion for women, youth, and the people, he is more than capable to unite the country and do great things beyond 2023 and he will be needing all our support,” he said.
Pharm. Asuku also advised the youths to be vigilant, and report suspicious activities in their constituencies to him, while imploring the youths to drop divisive factors such as religion, ethnicity, or class that seek to divide us and must continue to work together to have a united Kogi State.
He advised the youth to uphold humility, hard work, Godliness, good human relationships, and a good attitude to work stating that His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello personifies all these qualities.
The Chief of Staff said despite the significant progress made in the first tenure, there is a need to do more to cement the legacy of the governor and to this second tenure more successful than the first. Adding that the Confluence University, the electrification projects in Kogi East, the proposed flyover in Ganaja, Kabba Township road, Lokoja Township road are among the major projects set to be completed in a few months.
Pharm. Asuku urged the people of Kogi State to support Governor Yahaya Bello and to be patient that the New Direction Government is heading to a great place and that Governor Yahaya Bello will be fondly remembered for his many achievements in Kogi State.
