Gov Ododo Commissions, Inspects Projects Initiated by Dekina/Bassa Federal Legislator

… Urges lawmakers to Deliver Democratic Benefits to the People

The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called on the Federal Legislators in the State to consistently provide democratic benefits to their respective constituencies in the state.

Governor Ododo made the call during the Commissioning of projects in Dekina Local Government Area facilitated by the Member representing Dekina/Bassa federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna.

The event commenced with the Commissioning of a 6-classroom block at LGEA Primary School Emewe Efu-Opa, followed by the commissioning of a solar-powered borehole at Olowa Ofejiji, inspection of the ongoing borehole drilling at Ajakagwu, commissioning of solar lighting, rehabilitation of a Primary Health Care center in Ojogba, and concluded with the inspection of the ongoing construction of the Ofode/Ateh Road in Iyale, all within Dekina Local Government Area.

Represented by the Deputy Governor Comrade Joel Salifu, Governor Ododo emphasized that the federal legislators in the state are effectively representing the people through the state and federal government’s renewed hope initiative. He urged all Federal and State legislators to intensify their efforts in providing representation benefits.

He highlighted that the present administration’s commendable work is inspiring other public office holders in the state to fulfill their campaign promises.

Governor Ododo acknowledged the lawmaker representing Dekina/Bassa federal constituency for fulfilling his promises to the constituents, encouraging them to jettison tribal politics and support the government of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and the APC for further democratic benefits.

He said the major roads in the area will be considered for constructions, commending the State Auditor General, Alhaji Yakubu Okala, and other political office holders for their support, which has given the people more reasons to support the advance new direction government.

Earlier, the Member representing Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna, expressed gratitude to the people and assured them of fulfilling part of his campaign promises in 2023. Despite misinformation circulating about him, he is dedicated to delivering on his promises and urged the people to disregard the propaganda and witness the positive changes in the constituency.

He emphasized that the projects being commissioned and inspected are just a few among the many completed and ongoing projects in the area, expressing his joy in positively impacting his constituents and alleviating their hardships. He pledged to undertake more projects, with the next phase focusing on Bassa Local Government Area.

Before the commencement of the event, Deputy Governor Joel Salifu paid a royal visit to the Ejeh Dekina and Chairman Dekina Area Traditional Council, HRH Alhaji Dr. Usman Obaje OON, at his palace for blessings.

The monarch praised the Federal Lawmaker for demonstrating capacity and pledged full support to Governor Ododo’s current administration to lead the state to greater heights.

A highlight of the ceremony was the introduction of Hon. Moses Idoko Ododo, former Member representing Dekina/Biraidu State Constituency at the House of Assembly, who defected from the opposition SDP to the ruling All Progressive Congress. This was presented to the people in Iyale, Dekina Local Government Area by his Excellency the Deputy Governor.

The Deputy Governor was accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Hilary Ojoma Egwudah, Assembly Member representing Ofu State Constituency, Hon. Shehu Seidu Amodu, the Director-General of Kogi State Community Watch and Ancillary Matters, Hon. Muhammed Nasiru Alfa, Director-General Protocol Government House, Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim, Ofu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Mohammed Lawal Musa, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Ethics and Values, Sheikh Sani Momoh Musa, among others.
