Gov Ododo Pays Condolence Visit to Obaro of Kabba Over Loss of Wife

Today, the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, extended his heartfelt condolences to the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman of the Okun Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi, at his palace in Kabba, Kabba Bunu Local Government Area following the recent passing of his wife, Her Royal Highness, Queen Marie Ige Owoniyi.
Representing the Governor was his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Hilary Ojoma Egwudah, State Security Adviser, Commodore Jerry Omodara Rtd., Mr Elijah Adeiza Evinemi, Head of Service of Kogi State, Hon Wemi Jones, Commissioner for Education, Hon. Asharu Okpanachi, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Helen Adeniyi, Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Hon. Sunday Faleke- Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Hon. Muhammed Muktar Shaibu, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative Matters, Rt.Hon Alfa Momoh Rabiu, SA to the Governor on Environment, Hon. Aboh Ibrahim, SA to the Governor on Commerce and Industry, Hon. Nichodemous Adejoh.



Also in the entourage of the Deputy Governor were Mr. GM Datawale, Commissioner of Police Kogi State Command, Mr Olowumi Tajudeen Adeogun, Director of DSS Kogi State, among others.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo expressed his condolences to the Royal father on the loss of his beloved wife, acknowledging the significant timing of her passing when her presence was most needed in the state. He emphasized the transient nature of life on earth, as stated in the Bible.

He mourned the loss of a cherished mother to the Okun people and the state, offering prayers for her eternal rest and strength for the family during this challenging period. Governor Ododo encouraged supporters to stand by the monarch during this trying time.
He also urged the family to inform the state about the funeral arrangements for government delegation and support during the burial ceremony.
In a vote of thanks, the Elulu of Mopa and Chairman of Mopa Area Traditional Council, His Royal Highness Oba Muyiwa Ibeun, expressed appreciation for the Governor’s prompt response and visit, highlighting the government’s commitment to the welfare of the royal family. He acknowledged the support provided by the Kogi State government, including infrastructure development and the appointment of key individuals from the Okun community to significant positions in the state.
Highpoint of the visit was the signing of the condolence register by the Governor.
