Gov Yahaya Bello: Best option for Nigeria students by Agada Noah
Dear Nigerian students
Combatant salutation to the ever military but not militant Nigerian students.
It is Crystal clear, pathetic, sardonic and Ill administration that the Federal Government and most State Governments do not give priority to the educational system, thereby making it a “look away” priority on the scale of national responsibility.
Today, I take it as a pleasure to write you (Nigerian
Students) without fear or favor the need to replicate the giant strides of Governor Yahaya Bello in the inprovement of quality education for the collective benefit of all.
The major evil that has befallen our educational system is the incessant and unnecessary strike action by ASUU, ASUP, NASU etc which has in recent times been a cog in the wheel of progression in a nation like Nigeria, but in kogi, other can take a clue for the better.
If you are current with happenings around, I would stand to say that kogi state is now a citadel of learning, an intellectual sanctuary for academic research and a fortress for human capital development.
It is interesting to note that the primary and one of the major responsibilities of government is security but to the reality of things we currently experience killings, kidnapping of students, banditry which are all signs of a failing system and a predetermined doom for the future of our education. Meanwhile, Governor Yahaya Bello has made kogi a heaven for her students and citizens and hell for armed robbers, bandits and kidnappers.
Note: Governor Yahaya Bello has been the security man of the year concurrently.
Finally, I am compelled by instinct to write to you today, that, in this democratic dispensation, the hopelessness of Nigerian students and our desire for a Messiah is high, as previous governments continue to pay lips services to the enhancement of education, making it expensive: a ploy to deny us the right to education and encourage killings, increase school drop out, thugs and others.
Therefore, the need to call on Governor Yahaya Bello to steer the wheel of Nigeria as his antecedents are without match in the nation.
“It is not where we come from, our tribe or religion but who can do it”?
A wise decision at this point is better as “a stitch in time saves nine”
Yours in struggle
