Governor Bello highlights how Kogi has changed under him
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has assured that the present day Kogi was far different from what it used to be before his assumption of office.
He particularly emphasised the area of security which he notes has ensured safety of citizens, stating that as against previous times, people of the State could sleep with both eyes closed.
The Governor said this on Friday in Lokoja while receiving members of the 23rd Regular Course, Foreign Services, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who paid him a courtesy visit
Governor Bello who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade welcomed the newly recruited officers and the team leader to the State and congratulated them for the feet they have achieved.
He expressed delight that the visitors could move around the State freely and sleep with their eyes closed because of the efforts of his administration on security which has so far yielded positive results.
The Governor informed the visitors that against negative rumours being peddled in some quarters on social media, Kogi state has remained peaceful and continued to witness steady developments across.
He however urged the visitors to take their time and use such opportunity to see the positives and such lessons beyond the shores of the State and the Country.
In his remarks, the team leader and Director of Foreign Services Academy, Dr. Cyprien Terseer Heen, explained that the Student officers after going through trainings which included diplomacy and intelligence were mandated to undergo a nine month on-hand training in diplomacy.
He stated that the students of the course, who were above hundred were shared into groups and embarked on tour to the six geo-political zones of the country.
The team lead affirmed that their visit to Kogi State just like their counterparts in other parts of the country was to acquaint the new recruits with the culture of the people and showcase its heritage.
He similarly affirmed that the student during their tour would be spurred to explore the economic potentials in various parts of the country to be able to adequately market such in the course of their assignments.
