…As KOGROMA begins operations across various locations

In a significant move to improve infrastructure, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has approved the rehabilitation and reconstruction of approximately 100 kilometers of township roads across the state. This project marks the first phase of a comprehensive overhaul of the state’s road network, aimed at enhancing connectivity and boosting economic activities.

The Governor also sanctioned a complete upgrade of the Kogi State Road Maintenance Agency’s (KOGROMA) equipment to ensure effective execution of the roadworks. Under the leadership of the Managing Director, Engr. Dr. Yunusa Alhassan, along with Engr. Bolaji Steven, Head of Civil Engineering, and Engr. Joel Ocheni, Head of Mechanical Engineering, all equipment has been restored and is operational across various locations.

The KOGROMA team is currently engaged in roadworks in Egbe (Yagba West LGA), Mopa (MopaAmuro LGA), and Ayetoro (Ijumu LGA), with extensive rehabilitation underway in these areas.

Roads Listed for Rehabilitation:

  1. Egbe Township Road – Yagba West LGA

The Governor’s decision aligns with his commitment to fulfilling the mandate given to him by the people of Kogi State. He has pledged to maintain the legacy of his predecessor, former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, and ensure that all stakeholders are involved in the state’s development process.

Dr. Yunusa and his team have also prioritized the engagement of local artisans in the road projects, providing employment opportunities and ensuring that communities benefit directly from the improvements.

The chairmen of three local governments—Hon. Tosin Olokun (Yagba West), Hon. Ademola Bello Destiny (MopaAmuro), and Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim (Ijumu)—have welcomed the KOGROMA team and pledged their full support for the ongoing projects.

In the coming days, KOGROMA will extend its work to selected roads within the Lokoja metropolis, with plans to move on to Kogi East for further rehabilitation efforts.
