“Governor Ododo Dedicated to Raising Kogi to Greater Heights”, Affirms Comrade Joel Salifu
The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu, has restated the unwavering dedication of His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the State Governor, to advancing the state towards higher levels of development for all.
In representing the Governor at the Commissioning of the state-of-the-art Ojo-ar-Rahman Central Mosque, at Sheikh Hassan Mikhail resident, behind the 500 Housing Unit in Lokoja, the Deputy Governor emphasized that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is a providential figure for the people. He disclosed that the Governor is fully prepared to propel the state to its desired position among the states in the country.
Comrade Joel Salifu highlighted that Governor Ododo, even prior to assuming office, was groomed for governance by his predecessor, former Governor Bello, to build upon the foundations laid before him. He revealed that Ododo is a graduate of Bello’s school of thought.
He maintained that the government’s accomplishments in ensuring timely disbursement of salaries and pensions, alongside numerous ongoing projects in the state, are a testament to the Governor’s commendable efforts. He lauded Governor Ododo as a remedy for hardship and destitution.
The Deputy Governor commended Sheikh Hassan Mikhail for his philanthropic endeavors, particularly towards the less-privileged, widows, and the marginalized, noting him as a humanitarian. He expressed that if the state had more individuals like him, it would be a more better place for all.
Joel Salifu emphasized that Kogi is inclusive of all religious beliefs, praying to God to guide the convener to lead the people effectively. He assured the worshippers that the Governor has directed the construction of the road leading to the prayer ground, in addition to other ongoing projects across the state.
During his opening address, the convener of the event, Sheikh Hassan Mikhail, stated that the mosque’s inauguration also marked his 14th year of divine calling to serve. He mentioned that, in his endeavor to assist the less fortunate, he has established primary and secondary schools with well-equipped facilities and educators.
The Cleric commended the Governor for his consistent support of the worship site and his prompt payment of salaries and pensions to civil servants, urging him to continue in his efforts. He appealed for the construction of a feeder road linking the main road to the prayer ground.
In his speech, the chairman of the event, the Ejeh of Dekina, HRH Chief Dr. Usman Obaje, hailed the convener, Sheikh Hassan Mikhail, as a beacon of hope for the underprivileged, expressing gratitude for his acceptance of God’s grace. He extended appreciation to the state government for its continual solidarity with the people.
A highlight of the occasion was the awarding of merit certificates to graduates of the Ojo-ar-rahman Islamic school who excelled in their studies.
The Deputy Governor was accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Hilary Ojoma Egwudah, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative Matters, Hon. Momoh Alfa Rabiu, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Ethics and Values, Sheikh Sani Musa, among other dignitaries.
