Governor Ododo Receives Heavy Weight Opposition Leaders from Yagba »

…..assures them of equal treatment

Political leaders from Yagba Federal Constituency in Kogi State who were in the opposition have decamped to the All Progressives Congress, citing the “excellent performance of the Governor and his detribalized nature” as reasons for their movement to the party.

Speaking at the decamping event in the Government House, Lokoja, Saturday, the leader of the decampees and former Member of the House of Assembly, Hon. Ganiyu Salaudeen (Erukutu) said all the leaders of the PDP and SDP and some leaders of the ADC have decided to team up with the All Progressives Congress to support the Governor of the State.

“We have come today to identify with you and to show the world that our politics is development oriented. What we want is development and you are working hard to make Kogi better. We have no reason to remain in the opposition”, he said.

The trio of Engr. Adegbayo Kayode, Commodore Folusho Daniel (Rtd) and Hon. Tolorunju Faniyi all harped on the fact that the Governor has made it impossible for the opposition to thrive with his “superlative performance”.

In his remarks, the State APC Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Bello thanked the decampees for identifying with excellence, assuring them that the party will treat everyone with a “sense of equity, justice and fairness”.

While addressing the decampees, the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo thanked the leaders for their show of support, saying his administration will continue to serve the people with honor, transparency and humility.

He said the leaders should continue to support his administration and ensure that the state takes advantage of her abundant mineral resources.

The Governor urged the people to stop politics or bitterness but rather come together for the development of the State. He urged all the people of Kogi State to continue to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
