Governor Ododo Visits Ofojo Farm, Lauds Charity Effort of Muslim Community

  • Donates 1 Million Naira Cash to bolster farm activities

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has praised the Muslim community for their dedication in supporting the less privileged in the society. He stated this during his surprise visit to the Sheikh Isah Okete annual farming festival at Ofojo in Dekina Local Government Area.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu, Ododo commended the Islamic body for their charitable efforts in feeding the less privileged and widows with the proceeds from the farm. He described the Muslim community’s work as a divine service and expressed gratitude on behalf of the state government.

He promised to facilitate the improvement of roads leading to the farm, ensuring increased accessibility and progress for the local community.

Governor Ododo used the opportunity to call for unity among the various religious beliefs, while assuring them that the government will continue to partner with all religious body in the state for improved peace and Development.

The Governor allocated a sum of one million naira to bolster the agricultural initiatives ongoing at the farm.

Earlier, Alhaji Momodu Agba, who spoke on behalf of the clerics, graciously welcomed the governor to the farm and offered blessings upon him to lead the state to greater heights with divine grace.

In his address, the former caretaker Chairman of Dekina Local Government Area, Hon. John Urah Ikani, said that the visit marked an unprecedented occasion. He emphasized that no Governor had ever graced them with their presence since the inception of the farming festival, stating that the governor is tolerant and ready to work with everyone.

In the same vein, the Kogi East acting Zonal Chairman of the APC, Hon. Mikhail Suleiman Mohammed, expressed gratitude to the Governor for honoring the Muslim community with his presence. He called for increased collaboration between the government and religious bodies.

Similarly, the member representing Ofu constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Amodu Shehu Seidu, lauded the unity of the Muslim faithful during the annual farming festival. He pledged his unwavering support to the farm.

The Director General of Kogi State Community Watch and Ancillary Matters, Hon. Muhammed Nasiru Alfa, praised the governor for his unexpected presence at the farm despite his demanding schedule.

He urged the people to embrace unity and support the administration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, stating that power is given by God.

Accompanying the Deputy Governor were Hon. Hilary Ojoma Egwudah, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Shehu Seidu Amodu, the Member representing Ofu at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Mikhail Suleiman Mohammed, the Kogi East Acting zonal chairman of the APC, Hon. John Urah Ikani, the APC Chairmanship candidate for Dekina Local Government Area, Sheikh Sani Musa, the SSA to the Governor on Ethics and Values, and the Permanent Member 1, Kogi State Christian Pilgrimage Board, Pastor Stephen Joseph, among others.
