Guber Poll: Kogi women pledge massive support, votes for APC’s Ododo »

Women across the 21 Local Government Areas of the State have pledged to vote massively for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo at the November 11 poll, noting that the women favourable policies of Gov. Yahaya Bello will be sustained under a continuity government.

They made this known on Tuesday during the All Progressives Congress’ Women and Youth rally which was held at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic Center, Lokoja where women and youths from across the Local Government promised not to disappoint the party.

Speaking at the rally, the First Lady of the state Hajia Rasheedah Bello said that kogi women are for continuity, which the party’s candidate represented.

She noted that since the emergence of Gov. Bello as the governor of the state, women and youths have had premium recognition in the state noting that both demography have played roles that are landmark in the political history of the state. Some of which include top appointments into cabinets, boards and Local Government administration.

The first lady urged the women to come out massively on Saturday to galvanize and vote for the All Progressives Congress adding that there is no APC without the women and the party’s victory is reliant on their support.

She added that the Governor remained a very strong advocate of He-for-She with respect and value for women.

Hajia Rasheedah alluded that as her time as the first lady of the state winds down, she will exit with the confidence that she served the women and youth of the state noting that she is confident that Hajia Sefiya Usman Ododo will take up the challenge and lead Kogi women and youth into greater benefits.

In her own remarks, Hon. Atika Ajana the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Social Investment alluded that the women will give their support to the APC because the governor has kept his promises.

She added that in areas of critical infrastructures, development in the education sector, improvement in healthcare and massive empowerment of Women and Youth, the administration of governor Yahaya Bello has truly delivered.

She hinted that Ododo Usman is the most suitable individual to continue with these legacies and further build on them, while urging the women to use their voter’s card to ensure his victory at the polls.

The Wife of the candidate, Mrs. Sefiya Usman Ododo assured the women that her husband would sustain the policies of governor Bello with regards to women in the state when elected as the governor adding that Usman Ododo will not disappoint the trust the women will give to him through the ballot.

Other women leaders who spoke including the Secretary to the state Government, Dr. Folashade Ayoade, the State’s Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatima Buba and the APC Kogi women leader, Hajia Hawawu Aduku noted that the women and youths are the determinant of election outcome and they have resolved to throw their weight behind the candidate of the APC, Usman Ododo to continue from where governor Bello will stop.
