Hajiya Onize Connect Forum Endorses Gov Ododo for Second Term, Distributes ₦40m to Boost Small Businesses

The Hajiya Onize Connect Forum (HOC) has endorsed Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for a second term in office, while disbursing ₦40 million to 80 of its members as part of activities marking the Governor’s two years in office.

The empowerment programme, held in Lokoja, saw each beneficiary receive ₦500,000 to support small-scale businesses and promote women’s economic independence.

During the event, a motion endorsing Governor Ododo for a second term was moved by Hon. Otokiti Zakari Al-Hassan and seconded by Hon. Aroga Idris, drawing wide support from participants.

In her address, the convener of the forum, Hajiya Onize Hassan Yakubu, reaffirmed her loyalty to the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo. She commended the Kogi State Government for what she described as an unprecedented commitment to women inclusion and empowerment.

According to her, the forum remains committed to promoting good governance and ensuring that the policies and programmes of the government positively impact households across the state.

In a goodwill message, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Sunday Faleke, praised Hajiya Onize for her selfless initiative, noting that private-sector and community-based interventions are vital complements to the state government’s efforts at poverty reduction.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Sherifat Attah expressed gratitude to the forum’s leadership and offered prayers for the continued success of the state’s leaders, noting that the ₦500,000 grant would significantly support their businesses and family livelihoods.

The event attracted several dignitaries, including Hon. Kabiru Ajanah Muhammed, Hon. Mimi Sandra, and other government officials.
