Hajiya Onize Hassana Empowers Over 1,000 Women in Kogi Central Through Outreach Programme

The wife of the Auditor General for Local Government in Kogi State and Convener of Hajiya Onize Connect (HOC), Hajiya Onize Hassana, has launched a two-day outreach programme aimed at providing relief to women across the Central Senatorial District.
The programme, held on June 12, 2025, in Okaito and Okengwe communities of Okehi Local Government Area, saw over 1,000 women receive cash support and wrappers as part of efforts to cushion the effects of the prevailing economic challenges.



While addressing the beneficiaries, Hajiya Onize expressed appreciation for their continued support for the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo. She encouraged the women to remain steadfast in their backing of the government, assuring them that her initiative would continue to deliver meaningful support.
“This is just the beginning of the many dividends you will enjoy under the Hajiya Onize Connect initiative,” she said. “Our goal is to improve the quality of life for women and foster sustainable development at the grassroots.”
In his opening remarks, Hon. Nasirullah ibn Yakub commended Hajiya Onize for her philanthropic gesture, describing it as a fulfillment of the promises made during the campaign of Governor Ododo. He also praised the women for their active involvement and support for the present administration, assuring them of continued government responsiveness to their needs.

Adeiza Lawal, Secretary of Okehi LGA; Ibrahim Kuburat Onozare, Councillor representing Okaito Ward; Hon. Idogu, Councillor representing Obangede Ward; as well as several Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), Legislative Special Assistants (LSAs), Ward Special Assistants (WSAs), and other government appointees.
