Health Care: Kogi govt. procures 21 additional ambulances for hospitals
In a bid to further enhance healthcare delivery system and to bring those in need of medical attention closer to the hospital in times of emergency, Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, has procured additional 21 state-of-the-art ambulances for the rural hospitals across the local government areas of the state.
The ambulance a 2023 Toyota Hiace high roof bus ambulances have the following features, patient and driver cabin intercom, Oxygen supply system, Suction machine (portable and rechargeable), First aid boxes with emergency drugs, Fire extinguisher, Wash hand basin.
The bus is also equipped with 220volts electrical system with electrical control panel, Vinyl flooring, Wall mounted sphygmomanometer, Flexible examination lights.
Other special features of the ambulance include CCTV cameras for live support in transit and surveillance systems, Mini refrigerator for cold chain drugs/products and NF-A9 auto loading stretcher.
Earlier this year President Muhammedu Buhari inaugurated the Reference Hospital, Okene which experts as alluded to rank in the list of world class health care facilities in the country. This was also followed by the commissioning of several medical facilities in Kogi East, West and other regions of the state.
The Kogi State Government also inaugurated the Kogi State Health insurance which is aimed at rendering free health care services to the people of the state while the Kogi care intervention has been another giant stride of the gov. Bello led administration.
