Hon. Mark Okpanachi Ogah Donates ₦1 Million to Idah Pillar Handball Team
In the spirit of Christmas and in a remarkable show of support for sports development, Hon. Mark Okpanachi Ogah, MD/CEO of Anarock Global Services Limited, donated ₦1,000,000 to the Idah Pillar Handball Team. The generous gesture came after the much-anticipated Christmas Handball match held at the Stephen Makoji Achema Handball Stadium, Idah, on December 27, 2024.
Hon. Ogah’s donation showcases his commitment to the development of grassroots sports and youth empowerment in the Igala Kingdom. Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Ogah emphasized the importance of sports as a unifying force and a platform for talent development.
“I believe in the power of sports to inspire, unite, and empower our youth. This donation is a token of my commitment to supporting the aspirations of our talented athletes and fostering a culture of excellence within our community,” Ogah remarked.
In recognition of his generosity and support, Hon. Ogah was presented with a customized jersey bearing the inscription “Mark O. Ogah.” The jersey symbolizes the deep appreciation of the Idah Pillar Handball Team and the sporting community for his contributions.
The event also held special historical significance, as Hon. Ogah’s late father, Mr. Okaku Ogah, was the pioneer Handball Chairman in Kogi State. His leadership laid the foundation for the sport’s growth in the region, making Hon. Ogah’s gesture not only a continuation of a family legacy but also a heartfelt tribute to his father’s enduring impact on Kogi State’s sporting history.
The festive atmosphere at the Stephen Makoji Achema Handball Stadium was filled with joy and gratitude as players, fans, and community members celebrated this act of kindness. Hon. Ogah’s donation is expected to boost the team’s morale and contribute to their preparation for future tournaments.
As the Igala Kingdom continues to produce exceptional talent in various fields, gestures like these from leaders like Hon. Mark Okpanachi Ogah are vital in ensuring that young talents are nurtured and celebrated.
This Christmas, Hon. Ogah has not only given a monetary gift but also a message of hope and encouragement to the youth of Idah and beyond. It is a reminder that through unity and support, the Igala Kingdom can continue to thrive.
