There are reasons why you hardly see me as a member of any group that usually celebrates in December every year. I am the kind of person who doesn’t like being in a group that is not political yet is dominated by APC members despite that I am APC member.
You cannot create a group for social gatherings where all its members come from the same party, while excluding others simply because they belong to a different party and expect me to be a member of the group. Whenever I see someone who, despite holding a political office, tries to organize a program that includes everyone regardless of their party, religion, or tribe, I truly appreciate and commend them so that others can emulate their example.
The objective of every administration should be to unite the people because only through unity can development and the dividends of democracy reach everyone within the jurisdiction. Since I have been in Kogi State, the first time I witnessed a Commissioner for Youth and Sports organizing a program that brought youths together across the state, regardless of their political affiliation or tribe, was the Youth Summit organized by the current Commissioner, Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe.
He has demonstrated that Kogi State belongs to all of us, not just to the party in power. This summit had in attendance all the youth chairmen of different political parties in Kogi State. Additionally, for the first time, I saw members of opposition parties attending a program inside the government house for the betterment of our land.
This young man has proven that his boss and mentor, Gov. Ododo, appointed him not for the interest of a particular party but for the benefit of all Kogi State citizens. Unlike others who have held the position of Youth Commissioner but limited themselves to only the youths within their party, Hon. Monday Aridaojo Anyebe has extended his reach across the state. His portfolio is not APC Youth Chairman but Commissioner for Youth and Sports, and he is living up to that responsibility.
I pray that God continues to grant him strength and wisdom to unite all Kogi State youths, regardless of their political affiliation.
