Hon. Sani Hassan Atawodi Condoles with commissioner for solid minerals
The Chairman of Ofu Local Government Area, Hon. Sani Hassan Atawodi, paid a condolence visit to the Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashir Abubakar Gegu, at his home town in Koton Karfe local government area of Kogi state, whose father, Imam Abubakar Umar, passed away yesterday, February 14, 2024.
The Chairman, who was accompanied on the visit by his friend Prince Buhari, urged the Commissioner to be strong for the sake of the entire family.
He said his visit was also to pay his last respects to the late Imam Abubakar Umar, whose death occurred as it pleased God Almighty.
The Chairman said, “When I heard of the death of your father, I was filled with mixed feelings for two obvious reasons. Your father lived a fulfilled life and has equally fulfilled the scriptures. The second reason is that I can imagine the vacuum he has left in the family. But my consolation is that he has equipped you to continue from where he has stopped. I pray for the grace to carry out this responsibility.”.
“In fact, we were looking forward to having him as the first to be treated for such an ailment in our reference hospital at Okene, but the unfortunate incident happened. From God Almighty we all came, and to Him we shall return.” The chairman assured the commissioner of his continued prayers and moral support.
In his remarks, the commissioner thanked the chairman and his friend, saying that his visit would facilitate deep consolation for the family members.
“I am short of words with your visit today, Hon. Chairman. You were one of the first people to send me a condolence message immediately after I lost my father. You’re a brother and, indeed, a colleague. I appreciate you so much. Thank you for standing by me at this time of grief.”
The burial prayers were offered by the chief imam of Koton Karfe central mosque for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased and for the family he left behind.
