Kogi Guber: I am candidate for all, Usman Ododo assures
…Receives royal blessings from Ata Igala
The Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has said he would run an inclusive and transformational leadership if elected into office as Kogi State governor. He promised to govern for all regardless of religious and ethnic differences.
Speaking on Thursday during his visit to the Ata of Igala, HRM, Alaji Mathew Opaluwa Oguche, at his palace in Idah, Ododo said his candidature is for the unity and progress of the state.
“Your Royal Majesty, I want to assure you that I am the candidate for all, I am for the unity of Kogi State, my agenda is Kogi agenda and as such, my aspiration will not cause disunity or division among the people of Kogi State because I believe that it is not a do or die affair.
“As the head of the traditional institution of our state, you have a big role to play in assisting us to ensure that we don’t deviate from the path of good governance being set by our leader governor Yahaya Bello”. He said.
The governorship hopeful went further to appreciate the traditional ruler for his love and commitment to seeing that Kogi is driven in the path of greatness.
“Your Majesty I am here to let you know that I will be a governor for all irrespective of religion, ethnicity or political divide. I am also committed to upholding the existing culture of ethno-religious harmony, tolerance and cohesion to enable continues progress in the state”.
On his part the paramount ruler of the Igala Kingdom, HRM, Alaji Mathew Opaluwa, commended the APC candidate for the visit and offered royal blessings on him.
The monarch said he was impressed to see other aspirants in the entourage of the candidate describing it as a sign of unity. He added that the APC candidate has agenda to unite and cater for the people of Kogi State, stressing that peace and unity is key to overall development. He also prayed for a successful campaigns ahead of the election in November.
