ICDA inaugurates 2019 Italo Cultural Festival Central Planning Committee
The Igala Cultural Development Association (ICDA) has formally inaugurated the central planning committee that is responsible for the organisation of this year’s Italo festival, a reverred Igala Cultural occasion to be held later this year.
The committee was inaugurated today, Saturday, in Anyigba by the Attah Igala, Dr Michael Idakwo Ameh-oboni II who was represented by Ejeh Dekina, Dr Usman Obaje.
Chairman of the committee is the former executive chairman of Dekina Local Government Area, Hon (Chief) Adejoh Akowe with Ustaz Umoru Uthman Ogbo to serve as secretary.
Members of the committee include the Ejeh Olamaboro, HRH, Chief Simeon Ujah; the Ohiegba of Mozum,HRH Chief Khalid Bukar; former health commissioner in Kogi State, Hon Idris Omede; and the former Chairman of Ibaji Local Government Area, Hon David Ogu (JP).
Other members include the Director of Ankpa Local Government and Regent of the council, Alhaji Usman Shaibu; the Onu Abejukolo, HRH Suleiman Abimaje; Dr. Moses Abu of lgala National Prayer Centre; and the Onu Ejule, HRH Adejoh Amanabo.
The rest are the Head of Mass Communication Department, Kogi State University, Anyigba, Dr Otta Gabriel; HRH Chief Joan Obaje from Idah; the National Treasurer of ICDA, Alhaji Abubakar Akowe Oguche; the ICDA Chairman Idah LGA, Alhaji Usman Onalo; the Onu Igala Abuja, Chief Abdulsalam Tijani Musa; Yahaya Musa Ochaja of Forum of Gagos; and the Onu Ogwu Kogi State, Obele Isah.
Speaking on behalf of the committee members, the Chairman, Hon Adejoh Akowe expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and promised to justify the confidence reposed in them.
In his own reaction, a member of the committee and HOD of Mass Communication Department, Kogi State University, Dr Gabriel Ottah said members were people of proven integrity and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver.
Dr. Ottah said he feels fortunate to be part of the committee, saying he was prepared to work closely with all members to ensure they deliver on their mandate of making the 2019 Italo Festival a success.
