The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has expressed its commitment to working with the Kogi State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development in raising awareness among youths about the dangers of corruption in society.

During a courtesy visit to the ministry’s office in Lokoja, the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner (RACC), Zayyana Alm Danmusa, led a delegation to discuss ways to strengthen collaboration in promoting integrity and good governance among young people in the state.

Mr. Danmusa emphasized the critical role of youths in nation-building and the need to educate them on the devastating effects of corruption. He noted that early sensitization would equip young people with the right values, making them ambassadors of transparency and accountability in their respective communities.

Responding, the Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Monday Aridaojo Anyebe welcomed the initiative, stating that the ministry was fully committed to fostering positive values among the youth. He assured the ICPC delegation of the ministry’s readiness to partner on enlightenment programs, advocacy campaigns, and other strategic initiatives aimed at curbing corruption.

The discussions centered on the need for workshops, town hall meetings, and interactive sessions to engage young people in meaningful conversations about ethical leadership and civic responsibility.

Anyebe expressed optimism that the visit marked the beginning of a stronger synergy between the ministry and the ICPC in the fight against corruption, with both parties pledging to work together to promote a culture of honesty and accountability among the youths of Kogi State.
