Ignore Fake Court Report Against Tinubu – Yahaya Bello Media Office
The Media Office of former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has refuted allegations made in a report by an online platform, Daily Excessive, describing it as “mischievous and senseless.” The report allegedly quoted Bello as threatening to expose details about how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerged as President, a claim his media office has dismissed as baseless.
In a press release signed by Ohiare Michael, Director of the Yahaya Bello Media Office, the former governor described the publication as the work of “a sick mind” aimed at straining his relationship with President Tinubu.
Bello’s media office clarified that no ongoing court proceedings involve any such statements by the former governor, noting that he has only taken pleas in cases with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and that trial proceedings are yet to begin.
“The court is an open place where proceedings are monitored by journalists and other stakeholders,” the statement noted, dismissing the report as a desperate attempt by detractors to tarnish Bello’s reputation and mislead the public.
The statement reiterated Bello’s respect for President Tinubu and his commitment to supporting the President and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The media office also revealed that security agencies have been alerted to identify those behind the blog, promising that the purveyors of the fake news will face legal action for their actions.
“Even those the hatchet-job executors are trying to confuse know that His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has great respect for the person and office of Mr. President and would never make such ridiculous remarks attributed to him,” the statement concluded.
