Int Hygiene Day: NANS Zone C-Director, Comr Asmawu Sensitizes Female Students, Distributes Menstrual Pads in Secondary Schools, Higher Institutions Across Kogi State

Comrade (Amb) Idris Asmawu Omeiza National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Director of Gender Empowerment and Orientation, North Central Region in her usual love and support for the Girls Child, embarked on sensitization tour across secondary school in Kogi state to educate female students on how to use their menstrual pads and how to be dispose properly after used.

She Educated Female Students at Secondary School Level on ways they should take good care of themselves during their menstrual cycle.

“Hygiene is the practice of keeping yourself and your surroundings clean, especially in order to prevent illness or the spread of diseases. Be extra careful about personal hygiene. Synonyms, cleanliness, sanitation, disinfection, sterility more synonyms of hygiene”, she Added.

Comrade Amb Idris Asmawu shared some tips to the female students on how to take good care of themselves during their menstrual cycle, using the Warm compresses, heat therapy, Comfort foods, sleep: cycle tracking examples. She also urged students to seek support by reaching out to friends, family, or a healthcare provider for emotional support and guidance.

She further advice, that If they experience severe symptoms or heavy bleeding, they should consult with your healthcare provider for guidance and support.

She charged, the school principals to keep more effort in sensitizing their female students on how to overcome challenges during their menstrual cycle.

Schools visited included Government Girls Secondary School Sarkinoma Lokoja, , Government Secondary School kabawa Lokoja. Federal college of Education FCE Okene, FCE Secondary School, Okene in Kogi West and Central Senatorial District. Others are Faith International Secondary School, Itobe, in Kogi East Senatorial District.

The Managements of the schools praised Asmawu for her kind gesture and urge her to keep the good works..

Comrade Asmawu, thanked the First Lady of Kogi State, Hajiya Sefinat Usman Ododo for her benevolence and support for the Outreaches.
