Joyous Crowd Celebrates Supreme Court Victory of Governor Ododo in Ankpa

The town of Ankpa erupted in jubilant celebration on Friday as a massive crowd took to the streets to rejoice over the Supreme Court’s affirmation of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo as the duly elected governor of Kogi State. The verdict, which put to rest any lingering doubts over the election outcome, was met with widespread elation among supporters of the governor.

Leading the jubilant procession was Professor Salisu Usman Ogbo, a prominent figure in the community and a key supporter of Ododo. Comprising supporters from across Ankpa, Olamaboro and Omala local government areas, making up the Ankpa federal constituency, the enthusiastic crowd, waving party flags and chanting victory songs, marched through several major streets in Ankpa. The procession drew more supporters as it progressed, with residents joining in to express their approval of the court’s decision.

The march culminated at the Ankpa Local Government Council Secretariat, where Professor Ogbo, alongside other party leaders, addressed the gathering. In his speech, Ogbo expressed gratitude to the people of Ankpa for their unwavering support and emphasized that the Supreme Court’s verdict was a victory for democracy and the will of the people. He urged the crowd to remain steadfast in their support for the governor, promising that the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo would focus on delivering on its campaign promises to improve the lives of the citizens.

Ogbo noted that despite the antics of promoters of ethnic agenda before, during and after the election, himself and other progressives in the area campaigned on the basis of merit and the capacity of Ododo to consolidate on the laudable achievements of the immediate past governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, stressing that the governor has continued to justify the confidence reposed by delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Kogi State.

The APC chieftain used the medium to urge members of the opposition to accept the Supreme Court virdict as the affirmation of the will of the people.

In their separate remarks, the APC Chairmanship candidates of Ankpa, Olamaboro and Omala local government areas expressed their appreciation to supporters for their continued faith in the party and government of governor Ododo.

Following the address, the celebration continued as the crowd followed Professor Usman to his residence. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the revelers prepared for an all-night celebration, with traditional music, dance, and fireworks planned to mark the historic occasion.

The victory celebration in Ankpa is one of many taking place across Kogi State as supporters of Governor Ododo express their joy and satisfaction with the Supreme Court’s ruling.
