JUNE 12: Fanwo Commends Nigerians for Preserving Democratic Ideals

As the nation celebrates 26 years uninterrupted and unblemished democratic dispensation, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Honourable Kingsley Fanwo has called on Kogites and Nigerians to uphold democracy, emphasizing that the best autocracy is not as good as the worst of democracy.

The Hon. Commissioner made this call in a statement made available to journalists on Thursday to mark this year’s Democracy Day.

Fanwo applauded the selflessness, tenacity, resilience and bravery of the past and present heroes who fought and sacrificed to ensure that democracy is established and sustained for the good of all Nigerians.

The Hon. Commissioner in his words said “It is pertinent to applaud the bravery, selflessness, tenacity, and resilience of our past and present leaders and heroes for sustaining democracy over the past 26 years. I put it to you that the best autocracy is not as good as the worst of democracy. Therefore, as Nigerians, let us work collectively to uphold the democratic values for fairness, unity, justice, and inclusion.”

Fanwo congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his development programmes so far, describing him as a true democrat who has fought relentlessly to see that democracy is sustained in the Country.

He urged Nigerians to support Mr President, adding that Kogi State is in full support of all the reforms, developmental agenda, policies, programmes of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Hon. Commissioner also congratulated the Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for being a true democrat and for his unwavering commitment towards infrastructural development in the state, urging the citizenry to shun politics of bigotry and support Governor Ododo. He reiterated the Chief Servant’s relentless effort to ensure the safety of lives and property across the nooks and crannies of the state.
