KGCSDA: Benefiting Communities Receive Retention Fee, Attest To Impact of N150m Micro Projects

Nine beneficiary communities of the N150 million community development project fund across Kogi State have attested to the great impact the execution had on their respective communities alongside the direct bearing on the well-being of the people and the alleviated their sufferings.

This was made know during the presentation of cheques for the 5% retention fee to benefiting communities by the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency in Lokoja on Tuesday.

Representatives and spokespersons of the benefitting communities in their separate remarks thanked Gov. Bello for the kind gestures which their respective communities have received attributing the successful completion of the projects to close supervision by the KGCSDA and the timely release of funds by the State Government.

In their remarks on behalf of the nine communities, Dr. Akin Oloniruha, of Asanta Community, Adejoh Habibat Jummai, Gboloko Community and Chief Ayo Olubunmi, Bagido Community, appreciated Gov. Bello for the funding of the projects, pointing out that the absence of the completed micro projects over the years, had caused untold hardship on people of these communities. The community members promised to take responsibility of the Projects by guarding it jealously and use it for the intended purpose,

While presenting the cheques, the General Manager, Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency, Mallam Dauda Momoh, said the 21 micro projects executed in the nine communities is worth over N150million. He further disclosed that each of the benefitting community has executed projects worth N15million as some of the projects included provision of water, hospitals, schools, amongst others.

The General Manager added that the agency is still Intervening in several other communities under the NG Cares program, advising communities that have successfully completed their projects and those that received their retention fee to have a sense of ownership of the projects, pointing out that the agency would continue to visit the communities to monitor and supervise the projects towards ensuring adequate utilisation.

Mr. Momoh added that more communities in the State and those who have completed their own project stands to benefit more from from the State Government if the previous projects are properly put into use.

The General Manager thanked the community’s that successfully completed their projects for working to specifications and delivering the projects on time.

Some of the benefitting communities of the N150million projects according to Mallam. Dauda Momoh included; Abache, Adavi Eba, Angwa Ogebe, Asanta, Bagido, Ebogogo, Eika Ohizenyi, Ebokehi, Gboloko Community. The General Manager assisted by Management Staff of KGCSDA and men of the media that attended the occasion also made presentation of retention fee cheques to benefitting communities.
