KGSG renames KSU; PAAU
Kogi State Government has renamed the State university in Anyingba after the late political icon, Prince Abubakar Audu.
The University would now be referred to Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyingba (PAAU)
Governor Bello made the announcement to the hearings of jubilant supporters of the late icon on Saturday when the GYB/CEDO 2019 gubernatorial campaign train landed in Anyingba.
He mentioned that it was a good gesture to honour who was deserving of it, stating that the deeds of the late political giant could never be forgotten.
Governor Bello assured the electorate of his administration’s continued effort to consolidate on the infrastructural achievements in his first term by initiating and executing more beneficial projects.
The Governor opined that only prodigal sons or daughters would import mercenaries from neighboring states in a ploy to cause mayhem during electoral process, assuring that his administration would not condole any act that would jeopardize the peace and unity of the state.
He asserted that one of his administration’s gain was uniting the people of different ethnic and religion in the state noting that any individual who was bent on sabotaging the state’s peaceful coexistence would be treated like a common criminal.
Governor Bello pleaded with the citizens of the Local Government, which was the largest in the State to conduct themselves peacefully before, during and after the election while he also urged the youths not to allow themselves to be used by those who wanted to destroy their future.
The Governor boasted that he was confident of his party’s victory at the polls as those in the opposition do not have any thing to offer the people.
The Governor while paying a customary courtesy call to the traditional rulers in Dekina Local Government informed that they were in the area to canvass for the votes of the people and also pay homage to the traditional rulers.
He mentioned that the Igala Kingdom was his home asserting that only those that do not love their home would import mercenaries to cause mayhem during electoral process.
The Ogoyi Onu Ayingba Alhaji Shaibu Okolo in his welcome address thanked the Governor for paying homage despite his very tight schedule.
He affirmed that the Governor and his Deputy were true sons of the soil as they have at different times through diverse gestures proven to have the good interest of the Igala Kingdom at heart.
The traditional ruler assured of his support for the APC flagbeares while he also warned indigenes and residents of the area to conduct themselves peacefully.
