KOGI @33: “We’re Commited to Fostering Harmony Through Innovative Programmes”, Gov Ododo

The Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has stated his commitment to implementing initiatives that will enhance the unity among the people of the state.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo conveyed the message during the celebration of Kogi at thirty-three and the unveiling of the Kogi international carnival logo, on Tuesday, at the government house in Lokoja.

Represented by the Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, the Governor emphasized the necessity for the people of the state to set aside any sentiments and come together for the progress of the state.

Governor Ododo extended his congratulations to the citizens for the establishment of the state, emphasizing the importance of upholding the vision of the founding fathers for the economic prosperity of the land.

He reiterated that a new era has dawned, highlighting the significance of timely salary disbursements and ensuring the inclusion of all members of society for the collective development of the state.

The Governor charged the members of the newly inaugurated committee responsible for organizing the Kogi carnival in December to demonstrate fidelity in their planning to ensure a successful program.

Ododo commended the organizers of the event, maintaining that the occasion also serves as a celebration of the victory at the Supreme Court in Abuja.

The Governor emphasized that his victory is aimed at unifying the people of Kogi State, asserting that the people are inherently united.

In her address, the secretary to the government of the state, Dr. Mrs. Folashade Arike AyoAde, congratulated Governor Ododo on the commemoration of Kogi at Thirty-Three and urged for improved unity among the people to thrive in the governance of the state.

She also lauded Former Governor Yahaya Bello as the political leader who laid a robust foundation for the current administration to prosper in governing the state under the leadership of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Acharu Okpanachi highlighted that the event aims to showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage through its diverse traditions and customs.

Furthermore, the Commissioner revealed that the upcoming carnival in December will transcend being a mere event, as it will significantly contribute to the economic growth and cultural hospitality of the state.
