Kogi AGL Hosts Youths, Students to Ramadan Iftar

The Auditor General for Local Government in Kogi State, Hon. Yakubu Adabenege Siyaka (Fancy), on Thursday, hosted youths and students to a Ramadan break of fast (Iftar) at his residence in Lokoja. The event, which was in line with the inclusive leadership style of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, brought together youth and student bodies in the state.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, led the delegation of young leaders and commended the Auditor General for his commitment to youth empowerment. He described Hon. Siyaka as a simple and accessible leader who has continued to support Governor Ododo’s vision of youth involvement in governance.

According to Hon. Anyebe, “Governor Ododo is empowering young people and making them key decision-makers in Kogi State. We appreciate the Auditor General for complementing the governor’s efforts and for always carrying youths along in his engagements.”
Several youth and student representatives who spoke at the gathering echoed similar sentiments, referring to Hon. Siyaka as “The King of Boys” due to his open-door policy and accessibility. They also praised Governor Ododo’s dedication to youth development and pledged their continued support for his administration.

In his remarks, Hon. Yakubu Adabenege Siyaka expressed gratitude to the youths and students for their support for Governor Ododo. He highlighted the unity among Kogi youths, contrasting it with the situation in some other states where, according to him, young people are often used by selfish politicians to create unrest.
“The youths of Kogi State are standing firmly behind Governor Ododo for the progress of our state,” he stated. “This holy month of Ramadan is a time for prayers and reflection, and I urge you all to pray for the governor and the government of Kogi State.”

Hon. Siyaka assured the gathering that Governor Ododo remains committed to prioritizing the welfare of youths and students in the state. He reiterated that the administration would continue to implement policies that promote youth development and engagement in governance.
The event, which featured prayers and discussions on youth empowerment, ended on a convivial note, with attendees expressing optimism about the future of youth participation in governance under Governor Ododo’s leadership.
