Kogi Anti-Fraud Campaign Team Engages KOSCEPA, Seeks Partnership on Youth Empowerment Initiatives
The Kogi Anti-Fraud Campaign Team paid a strategic visit to the Kogi State Commodity Exchange, Export Promotion and Market Development Agency (KOSCEPA), where they were received by the Director General, Hon. Adewale Victor Omofaiye, alongside key Directors of the Agency.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Oluseyi Kelvin Eleta, Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Kogi State on Fraud and Internet Matters, briefed the management of the Agency on the objectives and progress of the ongoing Kogi Anti-Fraud Campaign. He emphasized the need to create structured alternatives for individuals willing to disengage from internet fraud and redirect their energy into productive ventures.
He proposed collaboration with KOSCEPA in critical areas such as agricultural training, commodity trading, and export development. He also introduced the idea of a quarterly Youth Enterprises Clinic designed to equip interested young people across the state with practical skills, market knowledge, and access to opportunities within the commodity value chain.
Hon. Munirat Bint Ibrahim, the Senior Special Assistant on Women Entrepreneurship, further elaborated on the upcoming Stakeholders Engagement Summit, highlighting the important role expected of KOSCEPA. She encouraged the Agency to actively support and participate in the initiative, noting its relevance to the overall success of the campaign.
In her remarks, the Director of Commodity Exchange, Hajia Saliu Wasilat, commended the initiative. She noted the growing concern over the prevalence of internet fraud among young people and described the campaign as a necessary step toward addressing the trend and promoting responsible engagement among youths in the state.
Responding on behalf of the Agency, the Director General, Hon. Adewale Victor Omofaiye, expressed strong support for the campaign. He also appreciated His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for providing the platform to confront the issue. He assured the team of KOSCEPA’s readiness to partner with the campaign by offering practical and sustainable alternatives that will encourage youth participation in legitimate economic activities.
