Kogi Begins Disbursement of Conditional Cash Transfer
The Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) to alleviate poverty among the vulnerable in rural communities has commenced today the 13th of this month.
Kogi State Focal Person on the National Social Investment Program, Prince Abdulkareem Onyekehi who disclosed this while speaking with newsmen said the excercise would last till Monday the 13th of September this year.
The focal person who is also the Special Adviser Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Special Project said the Federal Government would disburse the the sum of twenty thousand Naira each for four months backlogs ofJanuary to April 2021 to over seventy four thousand poor and vulnerable women in rural communities under close supervision of (NSIP).
According to him, the State beneficiaries of CCT had been increased to seventy four thousand, one hundred and one people which according to him, was rated as one of the best in the country.
He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for initiating the lofty program to alleviate poverty and as well commended Governor Yahaya Bello who perfectly keyed into the program by funding the office to enable it actualise its day to day activities.
