Kogi-born Dr. Juliet Muoneme Launches Two Books in Abuja
A renowned Kogi-born academic and well sort after researcher, who hails from Okene Local Government in Kogi State has launched two books in Abuja.
Dr. Juliet Okibayi Hassana Muoneme has twenty years experience in the teaching profession spanning from her secondary school to tertiary levels, and holds a Doctorate Degree (P.hD) in Biology Education from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria in 2017, Master’s in Science Education (M.Ed) also from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2015, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology from Bayero University, Kano (BUK).
Dr. Muoneme possess other professional degrees like PGDE, PGDM and MBA, and currently serving as the Head of Department (HOD), Science Education, VERITAS University, Abuja.
Also mentioned in the Author’s citation read by the Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on New Media, Hon. Avoyi Nwogu, Dr. Muoneme who after completing her Master’s Degree in ABU Zaria, gained admission into the same institution to continue with her Doctorate Degree immediately, following her antecedents and thirst for knowledge. She completed her Ph.D in Abuja within two years; an achievement still a mystery to many students who took longer to complete their programs at the time, due to the high level of scrutiny and academic strictness many has alleged the school to possess.
The unveiling of the books: Research Methods and Statistics (Functional Approach, Writing and Presentation) and Being a Teacher (Teaching Compendium), which took place on the 30th of September, 2021 at Women Development Center, Abuja, under the Chairmanship of Dr. Dennis Kamah (PhD), was graced by dignitaries from across the country, particularly the academic sector.
During the unveiling of the first book, Research Methods and Statistics by Air Commodore Sani Zakar, Director Sergeant at Arms National Assembly, who gave a detailed expository of what readers should expect in the book, he encouraged all academia present to do all they could to see that the book gets a wide circulation in the country and beyond, so as to impact and rejuvenate student’s attitude to research methods.
Followed was the review of the second book; Being a Teacher, by Prof. B.C Uzoechi, who explained convincingly why every institution in the country should have copies of the book for all their staff. Prof Uzoechi stated that the book is imbedded with numerous uncommon features capable of attracting any intending reader to get a copy. He commended the Author’s proper sense of acknowledgement in the book, her layouts and design, and publishing work.
Research Methods and Statistics has 400 pages in volume, segmented in 19 chapters, while the other book Being a Teacher has about 234 pages spread across 14 chapters.
The Guest Speaker, Dr. Cally Cussons gave an in-depth explanation about the Author, Dr. Juliet Okibayi Hassana Muoneme, who regards him as mentor. He urged individuals present to do all they can to achieve their dreams regardless of every limitations.
The books were launched in an atmosphere filled with encomiums poured out on the Author, Dr Juliet Muoneme, for a job well done, and for contributing immensely to the academic sector of the country.
Dr. Juliet Okibayi Hassana Muoneme during her speech in a dumbfounded manner appreciated guests comprised of professional colleagues, friends and family, business associates, and well-wishers, who trooped out in mass to support her art and encouraged her to do more. Dr. Muoneme specially appreciated those who have played significant roles in her life during her rise to stardom.
Her husband, Sir Dr. A. N Muoneme KSJI, who is a Medical Practitioner, received most of the encomiums for being a supportive husband and for believing in her dreams and standing by her to ensure that she achieve all her goals.
“I am not from a rich background, and did not have hope of proceeding to a higher institution if not for the support of my husband. I got married to him when I was in 200L during my undergraduate days. He has been there for me ever since till this very day” -Dr Muoneme emotionally confessed during her speech.
The Author further added some icing on the cake by revealing that her book is capable of addressing students failure and teachers lack of methodology to teachings. While thanking all those who contributed in one way or the other to the success of the book, Dr. Muoneme urged everyone with knowledge value to have a copy of both books.
Dr. Mrs Juliet Muoneme has authored other books including: Principle and Practice Of Education In Teaching Profession, Essentials Of Plant Physiology, Learning Theories and Subject Teaching Methodology for Tertiary Institutions, Research Methods In Education, Media and Technology Theories In Science Teaching , History and Philosophy Of Science, A Proactive Approach to Class Room Discipline And Management In Science Teaching, and many others.
The event ended with award presentations to individuals has played significant and memorable role in the life of the Author. Amongst the award recipients were Prof. Uzoechi, HRH, Alhaji Muhammad Ataba Sani Omolori amongst others.
