Kogi Central Holds Prayers for the Governor

Christians of different denominations under the aegis of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) gathered at the Cathedral of St. Andrew’s, Okene to hold thanksgiving prayers for the Governor of the State, His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo for the successful completion of his first year in office and to commit him in prayers to God for the rest part of the tenure. The prayer session which held on Sunday, 26th January was led by the Kogi Central CAN Co-ordinator, Evang. Job Sanni-Apaana JP. Picking his text from 1 Tim. 2:1-2, he emphasised God’s mandate on us Christians to pray for our leaders.

During the prayers, they thanked God for the Governor so far, so good and also asked God to give him sound health, protection, long life and wisdom to pilot the affairs of the State to an enviable height and to the benefit of Kogi citizens. The Central CAN used the opportunity to felicitate with the Governor on his one year in office.

Also present at the meeting were Pst. Isaiah Alabi the General Overseer of the Gospel Assembly Intercontinental and wife, the Okene City Zonal CAN Chairman, Ven. Godwin Omananyi, the Okene LG Chapter CAN Vice Co-ordinator, Rev’d John Owotunshe, the Kogi Central CAN Youth Co-ordinator, Hon. Joel Omolaiye, Okene LG WOWICAN Chairperson, Mrs Ozigi and a host of other Ministers. Similarly, this prayer convocation was held across all the Local Government Areas of the Central.
