Kogi Central: Let's Flip Through Natasha Akpoti's Mendacious Character »

In the last 24 hours, the suspended Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has undoubtedly lost thousands of sympathizers and virtual or online supporters owing to her tacit admission of mendacity against the persons of Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello. These virtual supporters, or electronic headless mobs were hitherto ready to brandish their thoughtless vocal weapons against Alhaji Yahaya Bello as soon as Senator Natasha spilled the names. But alas, truth is as stubborn as the Natashas, the more you try to suppress it, the more vigor it exhibits.

Let the truth be told. An objective and refined observer would concur that Senator Natasha came to limelight via mischievous agitations for the revival of moribund Ajaokuta Steel Company and then her phantom humanitarian NGOs. However, she curried her political popularity through consistent insults and verbal attacks on Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello. With the assistance of social media and the now rested Ovidi Family, the embattled Senator would effortlessly lay unfounded allegations on the then GYB and try to sway and manipulate people’s emotions with buckets of Ukrainian tears.

Natasha invaded the peaceful Ihima community using a helicopter on the 1st of April, 2025, despite warnings by the state government against such gathering based on developing security concerns. Her podium was set, a large crowd which the Chief Security Officer of the state warned against was mobilised and the former Chairman of Okene LGA, Alhaji Yahaya Karaku led ‘songs of insult’ to spite Okehi LGA administration whose directives were in line with the state government.

Magnificently but with aura of pathetic notoriety, the embattled Senator descended from the helicopter, performed some manipulative gestures similar to sujud to the admiration of the bankrolled crowd and ascended the podium where she declared without mincing words, that Senator Akpabio had instructed former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, to eliminate her within the state. She made the empathetic crowd understood that both FGYB and Senator Akpabio agreed to eliminate her in Kogi State to make it appear as though her constituents were responsible for the attack.

Indeed, the allegation added novel dimensions to the avoidable political wars which had engulfed the lawmaker. Senator Natasha had variously accused FGYB of assassination plots in 2017 and 2019. Due to the enormity of the allegation, a popular Channels TV On-Air-Personality, Seun Okinbaloye had on April 3rd, 2025 asked on a live programme, “You’re a lawyer, are you aware of the gravity of this heavy allegations against Akpabio and Yahaya Bello? Expectedly, Senator Natasha said “I challenge Akpabio to sue me because I have evidences.”

While waiting for Senator Natasha’s “concrete evidence” against the Senate President and FGYB, she ignobly chickened out yesterday when she spoke through her legal representative that her “Ihima-Declaration of Falsehoods” were done out of fear.

The above scenario was not the first of its kind. Senator Natasha seems to thrive in reckless fabrication and false accusations against upstanding individuals in the society. Adored by many with little or no critical thinking ability, the suspended lawmaker has expertise in bringing emotional and regional sentiments to manipulate the minds of people who saw messiah in her. This is one of the reasons people with sound minds refused to call for the head of Senator Godswill Akpabio when she accused him of sexual harassment simply because of seat re-allocation at the Red Chamber.

Senator Natasha had on Tuesday, 12 October 2021, accused Mr Reno Omokri of sexual harassment and how Reno wiggle his way out of the situation is a story to be told another day. However, I urge everyone to heed to the admonition of Reno who said, “Before Nigeria crucifies Senator Godswill Akpabio, I’d encourage people like Obiageli Ezekwesili and others now agitating to ask Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to take a lie detector test. One Senator can escort her in her support and one that’s objective or Obiageli Ezekwesili and a third party, maybe someone from CAN, National Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, or some other objective body, to do the lie detector test.”

Of a truth, I align myself with Reno Omokri. Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan needs to undergo series of lie detector test as soon as possible.
