Kogi Commissioner Declares National Badminton Tournament Open »

Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Monday Aridaojo Anyebe has today declared the official commencement of the National Badminton Tournament at the Confluence Badminton Club at NIWA Restaurant, Lokoja.

Honourable Anyebe who charged the athletes to be of good conduct in the course of the tournament, said one of the aims of the game is to bring youths together to further hone their skills amidst different participants ahead of possible global contest.

While assuring all participants of secured and serene environment needed for optimal performance, Hon. Anyebe revealed that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s love for sports development has been demonstrated in various productive and empowerment ventures since he was inaugurated in January this year.

The official commencement of the tournament was witnessed by top government functionaries and the immediate past Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly Rt Hon. Matthew Kolawole.

It is important to note that Kogi State contingents are readily on ground to participate in the national game.
