Kogi Deputy Gov Urges Christians to Sustain Support for Leaders, Take Part in Politics
The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Salifu has praised the member representing Ofu State Constituency in the House of Assembly, Hon. Shehu Seidu for his kind support to the Christian community for the celebration of 2025 Christmas, describing the gesture as rare among leaders.
He stated this during the distribution of food and cash items to Christian and party leaders in Ofu Local Government Area at his Ejule residence on Monday. He urged the beneficiaries to share with their neighbors and continue to live in peace with one another.
Joel Salifu said the party’s main leaders are Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and called on the people to support them and always pray for leaders in authority.
He also advised Christian leaders to take active part in politics, saying that when good people are in leadership, the people will be happy. He stressed that it is not enough to only pray, but important to also take part in politics to bring positive change.
The Deputy Governor donated food and cash items to the Christian and party leaders as his support for the ease celebration of the festivities.
Earlier in his remarks, the member representing Ofu State Constituency in the House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmodu Seidu, said the meeting was held to celebrate Christmas with the Christian community and their leaders.
Speaking, the Ejule community leader, Comrade Yahaya Adama, said the community fully supports the APC. He thanked the Assembly member for remembering his people during the Christmas season.
On his part, the Director General of Kogi State Community Watch and Ancillary Matters, Hon. Muhammed Nasiru Alfa, congratulated the Christian community on the Christmas celebration and urged them to take part in politics so that their interests are not left out.
