Kogi Deputy Governor describes Governor Bello as exemplar of religious tolerance, integration »

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja has noted that Governor Bello has remained a role model to follow on issues of religious tolerance and integration, noting that his actions had laid a fundamental principle for others within the government to model

The Deputy Governor made this known on Thursday while receiving the State Chapter of Jamatu Nasir Islam (JNI) at his office as they paid him a thank you visit over his several efforts towards religious organization in the state.

Onoja noted that current events in our nation particularly the insecurity trend although being tackled by President Muhammadu Buhari were an avenue to direct the gaze of Nigerians towards a leader come 2023 who could proffer solutions to them

He noted that the general perception of Governor Bello within and outside the state largely affirmed that he had perform excellently in the area of security while using the instrumentality of integration as a tool to achieve such task

The Deputy Governor noted that the Muslim community have always been around the Christian communities while both have co existed peacefully just as the Governor and other members of his cabinets preached based on the instructions of the holy book

He strssed that It was good to thank God for kogi state security story which has recorded improvement despite of serious concerns of insecurity in some of its neigbouring states while alluding that such exemption aside other things would not be taken away from both the Muslims and Christian community’s earnest prayers

Chairman of JNI, Kogi State Chapter, Ambassador Usman Bello expressed gratitude to the Deputy Governor for his continued support and encouragement while he also lauded the State Governor on his stance and support for religious organistaion.

He noted that the recent completion of the Organization’s mosque which was greatly supported by the Governor and commissioned by the Governor was another pointer to his strife to ensure balance among every religion in the state

In his own remarks, the secretary of the organization, Alhaji Isah Adeboye expressed that the Deputy Governor have played notable roles in managing the affairs of the state, managing inter religious co existence and was playing a supportive role in the admistration.

He mentioned that the renovation of okpo central mosque as a Christian among many other endeavours was an unusual gesture which have endeared him to the hearts of many individual across divides.
