Kogi Deputy Governor’s Office Responds to Open Letter, Refutes Claims of Staffing Shortages

The office of the Deputy Governor has issued a statement addressing recent allegations made in an open letter to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo. The letter, published on several blogs, claimed that the Deputy Governor’s office is severely understaffed, with only one aide assigned to assist. The statement from the Deputy Governor’s office has firmly denied these claims, labeling them as “unfounded and baseless.”

According to the statement, the Deputy Governor has never expressed any concerns or complaints regarding the number of aides in his office. The claim in the open letter that there is a staffing shortage is incorrect, as there are, in fact, more than nine aides currently serving in the Deputy Governor’s office.

The statement also clarified that the Deputy Governor has not requested additional support or sympathy concerning the appointment of aides. The office emphasized that any suggestions to the contrary are pure speculation and do not reflect the current situation.

The aides working under the Deputy Governor were carefully selected through a thorough vetting process, and the office asserted that there is no need for media agitation to expedite the appointment process. Both the Governor and the Deputy Governor are committed to making careful decisions without being rushed or coerced.

The statement further warned those responsible for spreading false information, stating that the law will take swift action against them once their identities are uncovered. The Deputy Governor’s office also cautioned politicians and their allies against defaming the Deputy Governor in their pursuit of appointments, threatening that they would face serious consequences.

Bloggers were urged to verify their sources of information before publishing, as misinformation could lead to misunderstandings and distort public perception.

The statement concluded with a call for the public to verify information and avoid spreading misinformation. The Deputy Governor’s office reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and efficiency in its operations.
