Kogi Deputy Speaker, Comfort Nwuchiola joins others at Armed Forces Remembrance Day event
The Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, joined the Speaker, other patriots, veterans, security commanders, and community leaders to lay the wreath in honour of our fallen heroes/heroines at the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day in lokoja, Kogi State capital.
This annual event offers an opportunity for us to again appreciate the huge sacrifices made by our soldiers and security operatives, especially those of them who died in different wars and internal security operations in the defence of our territorial integrity, National unity and peace.
She commend all our security agencies for the yeoman’s job that they do and continue doing. Every day, they make sacrifices to keep us safe. As a government, we shall continue to work with the security agencies to ensure safety of lives and properties. We trust and will continue to support them to eliminate all forms of threats to the safety and peace of our society.
To the families and friends of our compatriots who are affected by the nefarious activities of some mindless non-state actors, we assure you of our continuous support and empathy. We will stay in touch, as we have been in our various capacities.
We will remain unbowed, and everyone involved in any dastardly acts of crimes against the people to pay dearly for it.
Security is everyone’s business. While we continue to ensure that the government do everything possible to safe guard the lives and properties of the people of Kogi State, it’s pertinent to say that honor should be given to the Chief security Officer of the state for making Kogi State one of the safest states in Nigeria. As such, I call on everyone to converge behind His Excellency, Alh Yahaha Adoza Bello the executive governor of Kogi state, and the incoming administration of Hon Usman Ahmed Ododo for the sustenance of peace, safety and socioeconomic growth in the State.
