Kogi: Edward Onoja Denies Nursing Governorship Ambition
The Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Chief Edward Onoja has disassociated himself from campaign posters and messages promoting his imaginary governorship ambition for 2019 or 2023.
Edward Onoja in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Sunday said those publicising a gubernatorial ambition for me now or for the future are strictly on their own.
According to him, Some people are all over social media sharing campaign posters and messages that Edward Onoja wants to contest to be Governor of Kogi in 2019 and/or 2023. I am the Edward Onoja, and I declare all such information as false and unfounded. I am Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State (my boss) who is running for a second term in office.
Onoja noted that he is the Director-General of Governor Yahaya Bello reelection Campaigns and the Number 1 footsoldier, supporter and voter for him.
He added: ”I value integrity, honour and fidelity very highly indeed. Above all I love my boss as my blood and I am not just loyal to him and his cause, I am sold out. Such persons should know that I have no personal political ambitions for 2019. If I will ever manifest such ambitions, it is still in the womb of the Spirit, and certainly not for 2019.
”Before the 2019 General Elections I told another misguided group of campaigners that I am not interested in contesting to be Kogi East Senator and I did not. Anyone connecting me to a dream, vision, mission or desire to run for Governor of Kogi State in November 2019 or 2023 is a mischief maker who will be treated like an enemy.
”My timetables in life are divinely designed and controlled and I will allow nobody to push me to miscarriage of destiny. I refuse to allow anybody help God to plan or direct my life, including myself.”
The Chief of Staff reiterated that his only ambition, mission and project for the 2019 Kogi State Governorship Elections is the reelection of Governor Yahaya Bello.
He therefore directed all followers and well wishers to devote their energy with resources towards the Yahaya Bello retention Campaign Organisation.
”Let us all vote my boss massively for a convincing win on November 16, 2019. After that we can talk about the future and God’s plans for it. Nobody should loose sleep, attempt to cut me down for fear of what I may, will or shall become. Only God knows who will still be counted amongst the living in the next 24 hours.” He concluded
