Kogi Environment Commissioner Extends Warm Felicitations to Ex-Governor Yahaya Bello on 50th Birthday »

The Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Joseph Oluwasegun, has warmly congratulated Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, on his 50th birthday, extolling him as a transformative leader of immense distinction.

Hon. Oluwasegun, in a heartfelt felicitation message personally signed and issued on Wednesday in Lokoja, lauded Bello’s visionary reign in office, noting that he left an indelible mark on the state’s development trajectory.

He added that Bello’s tenure was characterized by groundbreaking initiatives that empowered women and youths, affording them a platform and voice in governance.

The Commissioner further highlighted Bello’s pioneering contributions to healthcare, including the world-class Reference Hospital in Okene, upgrading of facilities in Gegu, Ajaokuta, and Isanlu, and the establishment of zonal hospitals – initiatives he stressed elevated the state’s healthcare system.

Oluwasegun explained that his performance while in office earned him prestigious awards, including Best Governor in Nigeria on Security Management and the BEBM Infrastructure Man of the Year 2022, garnering national recognition, with President Muhammadu Buhari commending his efforts in security and project execution.

The Commissioner equally praised Bello’s impact on education, citing the establishment of Confluence University of Science and Technology and school upgrades – initiatives that enhanced Kogi’s education sector.

He expressed gratitude to him for laying a solid foundation for his successor, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, whom he added is building on his legacy to create an economically thriving Kogi State.
