Kogi Gov. has guaranteed respect for constitutional, due process – State Attorney General

Kogi State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Ibrahim Sanni Muhammed has noted that the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello has guaranteed respect for constitutional and due process in the state.

He made this known on Tuesday, at the Swearing in of Justice Sunday Omeiza Ottu as the substantive Chief Judge of Kogi State after recommendation by the National Judicial Council and confirmation of his appointment by the Kogi State House of Assembly.

He noted that the State Judicial Arm have had a smooth running particularly in the area of leadership transition and appointment of new officials because the governor was keen on following laid down procedure without bias or favoritism

The State Attorney General opined that unlike some very embarrassing events witnessed in some states, Kogi’s Judicial arm has continued to thrive while it enjoyed smooth and cordial relationship with both the Executive and Legislative arms of government.

Mr. Muhammed expressed that the appointment of the newly confirmed Kogi State Chief Judge was owned to his laudable work in the profession within and outside the state and his giant strides in the few moments of his appointment in acting capacity.

While he thanked the Governor, NJC, Legislative arm and other stakeholders for the respective roles which they played in the actualization of the event of the swearing in, he expressed confidence in the new Chief Judge as a round peg in a round hole.

Governor Bello who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja in his remarks lauded the continued synergy between the three arm of government in the state for the past five years, while he congratulated Justice Sunday Omeiza Ottu over his elevation as the head of the Judicial arm in the state.

He urged him to discharge his duties as always owing to his very rich professional profile while praying for endowment of wisdom, good health and every other thing needed to perform his duties.

The New Chief Judge in his vote of thanks promised to deliver on the expectations placed on him while he expressed his gratitude to God and individuals used to elevate him to the peak of his career.
