Kogi Government Mourns Media Icon Prof. Tom Adaba

The Kogi State Government has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Prof. Tom Adaba, a renowned media expert and distinguished Nigerian, describing his death as a great loss to the nation.

In a condolence message signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Olorunfemi Fanwo, the government eulogized Prof. Adaba as a trailblazer in Nigeria’s media industry.

Prof. Adaba, one of the first Nigerians to earn a doctorate in Mass Communication, was a pivotal figure in the country’s broadcasting landscape. His tenure as the Principal of the Nigerian Television College, Jos, and later as the first Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), solidified his legacy as a visionary leader.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, the late media guru was recognized for his role as a mentor, educator, and patriot. He was committed to upholding ethical journalism and responsible broadcasting, leaving an indelible mark on Nigeria’s media industry.

The Kogi State Government extended its condolences to Prof. Adaba’s family, friends, and the entire media community, praying for God’s strength to help them bear the loss.

“His wisdom, dedication, and service to the nation will forever be remembered,” the statement read.

Prof. Tom Adaba will be remembered for his immense contributions to the growth of media in Nigeria and his service to the state and the nation.
