Kogi Gov’t enlists technocrats, top entrepreneurs, others to drive economic growth
Kogi State Government on Thursday announced the constitution of a high powered 36 Member Economic Advisory Council comprising of renowned and notable names across board and chaired by former Kogi State Internal Revenue Service boss, Mr. Aliyu Inda Salami.
In a Press release by the State’s Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, noted that as a bold move to stir a revolution in the economy of Nigeria’s most promising state in terms of natural and human resources, the Government of Kogi State has made an audacious move to set up the Council
He asserted that the rationale was to provide evidence-driven decision making and rigorous evaluation of the economy adding that the Council would systematically take stock of the most recent trends in economic development, applied economic methods, poverty analytics, evaluation methods, and modelling, measuring, and evaluating development interventions.
He emphasized that as a State, they were proud to unleash Kogites who have excelled nationally and globally on the current economic reality with the aim of bringing the state’s finest brains together to move the State forward with the ultimate goal being the need to reduce poverty and underdevelopment.
