Kogi Guber: APC candidate honours DSS’ invitation over opposition’s petition
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo on Saturday honoured an invitation extended to him by the Department of State Security, Lokoja regarding a petition submitted against him by some members of the opposition.
Giving further clarification, Commissioner for Information and communication, Kingsley Fanwo said that Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo was invited by the DSS and being a law abiding citizen who is aspiring to lead the state, he honoured the invitation.
He added that the allegations made as contained in the petition were frivolous and unfounded, however, it was incumbent on the APC Governorship Candidate to respect a constituted authority such as the DSS.
Mr. Fanwo narrated that Alh. Ododo was drilled by a team of Operatives at the DSS office for hours and he gave convincing explanations to the interrogators.
While he commended the professionalism of the DSS, he noted that Kogi state government under Governor Bello’s leadership have pledged its cooperation to whatever measures taken or to be taken to ensure a peaceful Kogi and a peaceful poll in November 2023.
He assured supporters of the APC Governorship candidate that he has since left the DSS Office to continue his consultations with Kogites ahead of the Guber poll.
He emphasised that government’s commitment to peace and tranquility is iron cas and every Kogi citizen and supporters of Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo should endeavour to be peaceful in all their activities towards the election.
