Kogi guber: Sen Adeyemi describes Bello/Onoja ticket as “winnable”

Senator Smart Adeyemi has on Thursday described the joint ticket of Governor Yahaya Bello/Edward Onoja in the November 16 governorship election in Kogi State as ” formidable and winnable.

Senator Smart made the remark when Governor Bello received members of the Okun Development Association (ODA) and 67 Traditional Rulers from Okun land in Government House, Lokoja.

Senator Smart who is the Director General, APC Campaign Council for the re-election of governor Bello described the duo as visionary leaders, with tenacity of purpose and the interest of the people at heart.

“I am convinced from all demonstrations that Governor Bello is a visionary leader with a sincere heart. His chief of staff, Hon. Edward Onoja has also been seen towing in the same vein behind his boss with one voice.”

“There is no iota of doubt in me about their winning. The huge investment of his administration in the area of protecting lives and property speaks volume of the importance he places on lives amongst others.”

While cautioning his people against working for opposition party in the coming election, he commended Governor Bello for his leadership style that has succeeded in uniting the people more than ever.

“I never would have worked with this government, if my people were at a disadvantaged position. But if you access this administration critically you will see that my people hold high profile positions in the governor’s cabinet.

“There is no point migrating to a minority party from majority. You can’t have the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the federal level and desire opposition that has no bearing at the state level.

“This is a progressive government and I am optimistic that the future holds more for the people.

“We are equally proud of the Ejiba Rice Mill in our territory. Not to talk about the asphalt road constructions. This is the first government in the history of Kogi State to construct Asphalt overlay roads.

“Take a look at the Isanlu Water Dam, the Kabba Market and the construction of Ife-olukotun road, all these we are grateful for,” he added.

Speaking further, the senator who attributed the backlash from some quarters against the present government on lack of adequate information, explained how previous administrations left the state indebted which is one of the challenges the present had to address. Stressing that the solid foundation that the government has laid have given impetus to their believe for a better, more prosperous Kogi State under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello.
